Why Mother's Day is Important
Go for a walk in any park and you are almost certain to see small children playing. If you keep watching for a while, you will see one of the children hurt himself or herself somehow and start to cry loudly. Suddenly, a mother will appear and take the child in her lap. After some time the child will go back to his or her game. That's mother for you -- always there to protect her children.
Some time back scientists carried out an experiment and found out that infants sleep better if they listen to the recordings of the sounds of their mother's womb. After all, this is where the child had spent nine months in total protection and cared for. Totally unaware of the world, he or she had no worries and no tension. Children carry the memories of those days in their early days and look for the mother whenever left alone. It is enough for them to know that mother is around. Whenever the mother is missing, they raise hell. No toys or any other distraction can make them quiet, because their first need is mother.
Those of us, who have forgotten about the sacrifices our mother has made to bring us up, should ask her to tell something about our childhood. She will open her memory box and tell you so many things that will make you wonder how she could have ever managed to raise you and your siblings up. You may not remember these parts of your childhood, but your mother remembers because you are her child. For a mother, her children are the dearest people in the world to her -- they are an extension of her personality.
So many women sacrifice their education, career, and everything else of themselves to raise their children properly. They care for their children at every moment. But one day the nest becomes empty as one after another the children begin moving out. Imagine the difficulty of the mother who is left with nothing but the memories. The empty rooms and the memories. Even after all this, she does not complain. She wants the best for her children and is always ready to give whatever she has for that.
So please do not forget to honor your mother on Mother's Day. In fact, why not try to make every day Mother's Day? After all, for your mother, every day was Children's Day, wasn't it?
